Review: ‘Toy Story That Time Forgot’

Although Pixar worked on a number of projects prior to 1995, it was the release of their first feature film, Toy Story, that launched the studio onto the path which made Pixar into one of the world’s most recognizable brands. After the incredible success of three feature length Toy Story films, the franchise’s significance to Pixar has only increased. Following the release of several shorts, we have seen Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the toys shift to television. Sci-Fi-Themed ‘Toy Story That Time Forgot’ Premieres On December 2

Throughout the years, Pixar has tackled several different genres, their films often being clever takes that both parody and celebrate classic films. With WALL-E, director Andrew Stanton and the studio went sci-fi, and also maintained a clear focus on the titular character’s story. In their upcoming Christmas special, the studio is returning to honor sci-fi again with a new entry in the Toy Story franchise. It is called Toy Story That Time Forgot and it premieres on TV this holiday season!

First Look: ‘Toy Story That Time Forgot’ Poster Is Epic

This week, tens of thousands of fans from all over the world will descend upon San Diego for its annual Comic Con. The massive event, in the past decade, has evolved into more of a pop culture show, with popular movies and TV shows sharing exclusive first looks and details with those in attendance. With no D23 Expo being held this year, Pixar is heading out to Comic Con, where it will be holding a panel for its upcoming holiday TV special, Toy Story That Time Forgot. Take a look at the epic poster for the special, which will be given away to panel attendees!

First Details: New ‘Toy Story’ Christmas Special Coming This Year

Back in October last year, ABC aired the first ever television special from Pixar, Toy Story OF TERROR!, which allowed us the most time with the great toy characters than we’ve been afforded since the release of Toy Story 3. The animation studio had delivered several humorous Toy Story shorts, but after spending just a few minutes with Woody, Buzz, Rex, and the rest of the gang, you were left wanting more. The special provided that without infringing on the toes of the feature film trilogy. ABC has now announced that a Toy Story Christmas special is coming later this year. ‘Sam & Max’ Creator Steve Purcell Credited As Co-Director Of ‘Brave’

‘Sam & Max’ Creator Steve Purcell Credited As Co-Director Of ‘Brave’

I am not sure whether this is something that we all missed, or specifically a detail that I, alone, missed – Steve Purcell, so integral at developing the story for Brave, is being credited as co-director on the film. He joins Brenda Chapman and Mark Andrews in the growing list of credited directors on the film. Cited for his work on the story and screenplay, it looks like his role was important enough that Pixar felt it warranted a co-director credit.
