When Disney bought Marvel a few years ago, imaginations around the world ran wild with ideas of collaborations between the two companies. Marvel Comics To Launch Disney Pixar Presents Magazine
Prior to BOOM! releasing comics based on Pixar films, the Pixar brand had never really graced comics. The company did an excellent job at adapting the characters to print, releasing many well-written and beautifully drawn comics based on Toy Story, The Incredibles, WALL-E, Cars, Monsters, Inc., and Finding Nemo. When Disney announced that they had purchased Marvel, there was speculation as to whether BOOM! would continue releasing Pixar comics, or if Marvel would take over. Rumor: Pixar Thinking Of Making Doctor Strange Film?
Artist Brendan McCarthy, who recently drew a Doctor Strange/Spider-Man story for Marvel Comics, commented in an interview with Bad Librarianship that in a meeting with Disney, the idea of Pixar making a Doctor Strange film came up:
I was over in Hollywood earlier this year mooching about, and I had a meeting at Disney and the conversation drifted around to Pixar animating a Dr. Strange movie… Now, wouldn’t that be nice. [Read more…]
