The fantastic “PIXAR: 25 Years of Animation” exhibition at the Oakland Museum of California has been open for two months now. The museum just unleashed a TV commercial for the exhibit and has posted it on their YouTube channel. It is great to see several pieces in the ad which are showcased at the museum. Illustrator Jerrod Maruyama recently visited the new “PIXAR: 25 Years of Animation” exhibit at the Oakland Museum of California. His review of the exhibit is below:
It is easy to get caught up in the brilliant, technical sheen of a Pixar film. The reflections of light on copper pots in Gusteau’s kitchen, the way Sully’s hair moves in a breeze, or even something as simple as a garbage bag stretching to the breaking point by Rex’s tail – all are dazzling feats of technology that get a lot of attention with each new release.
