In Monsters, Inc., it is alluded that Mike and Sulley were not always an inseparable pair. In the first teaser for the prequel, Monsters University, we got confirmation of that as Sulley pranks Mike to hilarious results. With the prequel film taking us on a college campus, it seemed that Pixar was prepared to unleash its interpretation of the “college movie.” In a new interview Billy Crystal elaborates on the plot of the film and has revealed a few significant details. The highly anticipated prequel to Monsters, Inc., Monsters University, is only a year away, but we have yet to see much from the film. We saw some character artwork at the D23 Expo last summer, and the teaser trailer for the film has been playing with early screenings of Brave. Monsters, Inc. Prequel To Be Called ‘Monsters University’
CinemaCon is an event where studios preview their upcoming titles to theater owners. Last year, when the event was still called ShoWest, it was reported that many in attendance cried during a screening of an unfinished copy of Toy Story 3. That was our first clue that the studio had created another fantastic film. This year, Disney has shared something else, in the form of an official title. Brave Release Date Pushed Back (Slightly)
The Wrap is reporting (and The Pixar Blog has confirmed) that there has been a shift in release date for Brave, which is scheduled to hit theaters in 2012. Release Date for Monsters, Inc. 2 Moved Up In North America
We are now two weeks closer to the release of Monsters, Inc. 2 as Walt Disney Pictures announced earlier today that the Pixar sequel will hit theatres on November 2, 2012. This is likely a response to yesterday’s announcement by Summit Entertainment that they were setting the release date for the final part of the Twilight Saga for November 16. To avoid competition from another surefire blockbuster, Disney made the smart decision to bump Monsters, Inc. 2 up by two weeks. [Read more…]
