PixArt has been invaded by Ingvard The Terrible! All we know is that we’ve never seen such cute artwork from a Viking before. We think all of his work is great and we’d like to thank Ingvard for this fun piece. But don’t take our word for it – read more Ingvard The Terrible in his own words and make sure to visit his sites!
Artist Information:
Name: I am known among vikings, cowering villagers and Art Directors alike as “Ingvard the Terrible.” Also acceptable are “Lord Ingvard,” “Ingvard the Handsome,” and in some Latin American countries, “El Pantelones Fuerte” (long story).

I currently live in…pretty much any village I feel like. As long as there’s gold to be plundered and beautiful womenfolk to expropriate. And a Chili’s.
I consider my hometown to be…the Great Northern Realms of Scandinavia. Although I’ve been known to summer in Long Beach.
My favorite Pixar movie is…It would be difficult to choose an absolute favorite, but at the top of my list would be Monsters, Inc., The Incredibles, the Toy Story trilogy and The Godfather. Wait—what? Pixar didn’t make that one? Huh. That’s a shame, really, ’cause that thing is FUNNY.
My favorite Pixar character is…For his brute strength, unwillingness to adhere to opressive societal edicts, and his powerful chin: Mr. Incredible/Bob Parr. For his unrelenting bravery, impressive body armor, and his powerful chin: Buzz Lightyear. And for his sheer hairiness and questionable hygiene habits: James P. “Sully” Sullivan.
Tell us about your piece: I’m just so stoked that there’s going to be a Monsters, Inc. 2 in 2012, and I thought, well, you know, since monsters were totally freaked out by kids, something that was all cute and cuddly like a puppy would probably just, like, terrify them, you know?
Who/What inspires you?: Thor, Cnut the Great, Sweyn Forkbeard, Oprah. Yes, Oprah. Look, if you want lessons on conquering large swaths of other people’s domains and ruling over it with an iron fist, she’s your girl.
Artistically? Oh, uh… Berke Breathed, Bill Waterson, Gary Kelly, Ed Fotheringham, Derek Yaniger, Michael Slack, Ben Caldwell, Jon Flaming, Bill Brown, classic Disney. Pixar inspires me not just visually, but in terms of developing great characters and compelling storylines. They also have a knack for dominating the box office, and domination, as you may have guessed, is a particular favorite hobby of mine.
Recommend something, anything to our readers: I recommend pickled herring, root beer and paying extra for fine cheeses. I recommend acquiring a stalwart crew and a few loyal thralls (Google it). I recommend living close to the ocean, and spending as much time in it as you can. I recommend laughing—big, deep, obnoxious belly laughs—heartily and often. I recommend finding yourself, and then promptly loosing it. Whoever or whatever you are, be it and forget about it. What other people think of you is none of your business. I recommend doing what you love, not for money, not for glory but because when you can’t do it, it’s like someone holding your head under water and you can’t breath (and those people should be promptly vanquished).
I recommend fighting with all the flame and vigor of the God of Thunder himself when the time calls for it, but when it doesn’t, keep your sword in its scabbard, sit back, drink some mead and lighten up, for Odin’s sake. Life, much like the television series Veronica Mars, is just too short. I recommend gathering around large fires, especially ones built for roasting fatty meats, with people you would die in battle for. I recommend dying in battle. Lastly, I recommend getting in your longship, setting out across the vast, unknown ocean and sailing, just to see what’s out there. Remember, if anyone asks, you’re not “lost”, you’re “exploring.”
Last words: Visit my site, follow me on Twitter, find me on Facebook, follow the blog. Or don’t. If you’re awesome, you like drawing, pickled herring and/or root beer, let’s hang. Ingvard out.
