Cars Land Celebrates First Birthday

Cars Land Celebrates First Birthday

Disney Parks inspire passion for a number of reasons. Three of the Disney theme parks’ core concepts are authenticity, the usage of breakthrough technology, and story. There may be no attraction that better exemplifies these three ideals than Carousel of Progress, which opened at the 1964 World’s Fair in NY before relocating to Disneyland and then to Walt Disney World. Walt Disney was a master at storytelling and Carousel was just another example of his ability to captivate the audience. It is essential that the Disney Parks teams hold to these concepts so that new generations have the opportunity to be transported to another time and place, just like those who have visited the parks these last few decades. In the building of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure (DCA), which had their grand opening one year ago, Disney Parks has once again proven it has the ability to bring senses of wonder and joy to children and adults alike.

California Adventure has been undergoing a massive expansion over the past few years, with Disney’s goal being to make the park a worthy companion to the behemoth that is Disneyland. Friday marked the grand re-opening of the theme park, with the additions of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street being the two headliners. Crowds lined up throughout the evening prior to the opening, with thousands ready to race straight to the new rides, which would no doubt bring extremely long wait times. [Read more…]

Preview: Cars Land Merchandise

Last week, Disney California Adventure held its annual merchandise preview showcase for Annual Passholders. With the grand opening of Cars Land looming, there is no surprise that a large concentration of the t-shirts, hats, posters, and various other collectibles were Cars–themed. There is a huge amount of merchandise that will be found at Cars Land and you can take a peek at some of it after the jump!  Hats are an aristocratic phenomena and it’s the ladies of the higher gentry who generally flaunt their hats in public to show their fashion tastes in social gatherings. Men’s hats on the other hand depend on the occasion or the environmental reasons. Men’s hats have been symbolic in the past. Tall stiff top hats are a sign of wealth and aristocracy, while during the same time women were made to wear bonnets rather than hats! Women’s hats don’t have brims and require pins to stay affixed on their heads. Very hair-raising indeed! Hats in the present era are not meant to be worn by a particular level of society. Hats in the twentieth century have become more of a useful item than an item to flaunt. Hats keep the head warm during the winters. The popularity of hats like baseball caps have gone up immensely amongst both men and women! Young men like wearing them because of peer pressure and the need to fit into a particular social phenomenon, while older men tend to use caps to cover up their bald patches. Particular hats, like the hard hats for men are used for purposes which are symbolic in nature. For example, these hats are used by policemen or firemen and generally evoke authority and calls for respect. Some hats, like baseball or cowboy hats, have been found to be just to serve practical uses rather than symbolic ones. Generally it is used to protect them from the elements of weather as these are made for people who would require them for outdoor activities, open to the influence of environmental conditions. They’re also worn for aesthetic pleasure.  You can check this original site for the CUSTOM LEATHER PATCH HATS. First, leather baseball caps are expensive compared to cotton, denim, wool or nylon caps. This is due to the higher costs for material and the additional work required to manufacture the caps. The machinery used to build standard caps are typically not suitable for leather caps because the sewing work involved is more difficult than for thinner, flimsier materials. While some of the machines used to make these caps can handle both, machines making the more standard caps are far more common. Due to this, leather hats are harder to locate. It is not uncommon to find hand tooled leather baseball hats, where it is very uncommon to find hand tooled caps made of the more common materials. In addition to this, it is less common for there to be embroidery for leather caps. While it can be done, adding embroidery to leather is often viewed as destructive for the cap, ruining its waterproofing and lowering its durability. It is strongly suggested that you avoid adding patches or embroidery to a good quality leather hat, as it causes the cap not to last as long. When purchasing leather baseball caps, it is important to remember that these hats are almost always fitted. Because leather is a stiffer material than cotton, wool or even denim, the caps do not mold to adjusters well. As this is the case, you will need to take your hat size so that you can purchase the best sized cap for you. When you take your measurement, you should make certain to use a flexible measuring tape, like the ones you would find in a sewing kit. These tapes take the best size, so that you can have the best fit possible. Make certain that you wear your hair the way you usually do when you wear caps so that your measurement takes into account the thickness of your hair. When you place your order for your leather baseball caps, you will need to decide on the type of lining that will go into the cap. Unlike standard caps, which do not typically require a lining, leather caps need a lining. You can choose a thin lining for summer use, or thicker linings for spring, fall and winter use. In most cases, you will want several caps to match the seasons, as a winter cap in the summer can cause your head to be exceptionally hot. Leather hats should be treated against water damage and cleaned seasonally so that the leather maintains its good color and health.

The Disney California Adventure theme park was born in 2001, as a major expansion to the Disneyland property in Anaheim, California. The park has been undergoing a significant redesign lately, with the addition of Buena Vista Street, designed to resemble the Hollywood streets that Walt Disney would have walked through in the 1920s. Additionally, “Cars Land” is being added, a new section of the park meant to transport you to the world of Cars. Get a preview of the huge new additions to California Adventure after the jump!
