Total Film Debuts Exclusive Cars 2 Still – Finn McMissile & Mater
Earlier today, U.K.-based Total Film debuted an exclusive new Cars 2 image featuring Mater and new character Finn McMissile. The setting is a familiar one – airports and planes have been heavily focused upon in the trailer and previous stills that have been released by Disney/Pixar. The new Cars adventure is shaping up to be a real international affair.
Check out Total Film to view the image in high-resolution, where you can really see just how much detail goes into designing the characters and everything in the background. Simply stunning.
Cars 2, which is sure to be gorgeous, hits theaters on June 24!
Cars 2 Still: Gang Goes Flying
Disney/Pixar has just released a brand new still from Cars 2, which Stitch Kingdom was the first to post. View it below (click to enlarge):
It is difficult to tell whether the characters are leaving or arriving, but considering the international flavor of the film, they will be boarding and jumping off planes often.
This is likely just the first of an avalanche of stills that we will be seeing before the movie is released on June 24. Only about four months left now!
Acer & Grem Drive Into Cars 2
It may be Pixar’s 25th Anniversary today, but that does not mean the studio is taking a holiday! Disney has released images and character descriptions for two more new Cars 2 characters today. Acer and Grem, who look quite devious, join an ever-growing cast of new characters. Check out the images and official descriptions below.
[UPDATE (2/4/11): Added turntable videos for both characters]

A Glimpse At Three New Cars 2 Characters [UPDATE]
Disney/Pixar has just posted images of three brand new characters that will be seen on the racetrack in Cars 2. From the looks of it, they will probably be competing against Lightning McQueen in the different races located around the world.
The images are not hi-res and the characters do not have descriptions just yet. The Cars Showcase on the Cars 2 Facebook page, which was the source of these images, has blank fields where the character descriptions normally reside. If I had to call it, we will probably see high-resolution images and descriptions for these three later today. Stay tuned.
Update 1 (3:30 PM): Due to a glitch on the Cars 2 Facebook page, the images were released before they were meant to be. Out of respect for Disney/Pixar, I have removed the images. I am sure we will see them again soon!
Update 2 (8:00 PM): Disney/Pixar has unveiled brand new character Carla Veloso. Click here to view hi-res image and video.

Herald Sun Debuts Exclusive Cars 2 Image
The Herald Sun (based out of Australia) has debuted an exclusive new image from Cars 2. We get another look at new character Holley Shiftwell:
Looks like the characters are on some sort of an aircraft. Think giant flying character.
As you think about that, check out the Herald Sun for their full article that accompanies the image.
New Image From Cars 2 Shows Off Japan
You would think that after pulling off a win at the Golden Globes last night, Disney/Pixar would take a break. Guess they did not get the memo, as Disney has released a brand new image from Cars 2 (click to view in hi-res):
Wow, is all I can muster after viewing that. With each successive film, Pixar seems to pull off higher quality animation, and Cars 2 seems to be holding true to that. The colors alone look fantastic here. I can only imagine what Lightning & Co.’s stay in Japan will look like in motion within the final product.
Thanks to Christian from the German Pixar Blog (a very nice Pixar blog, if I may add) for alerting me about the image’s release.
