In just under 30 years of existence, Pixar has amassed an incredible amount of goodwill from audiences around the world, giving the studio more respect than any other film studio in Hollywood. In recent years, the universal praise that the studio usually garnered has wavered, with Toy Story 3 (2010) being Pixar’s last mega-success. Meet The 5 Major Characters From ‘Inside Out’
The premise of Pixar’s next feature film, Inside Out, is easily one of the most creative we have seen from the studio. The story takes place inside the mind of a young girl named Riley, where we will meet the five characters that represent her emotions: Joy, Anger, Sadness, Disgust, and Fear. Although the film’s plot surrounds Riley, the emotions will be the true main characters, led by Joy, described by director Pete Docter as the emotion most significant to Riley. Watch The ‘Inside Out’ Teaser Trailer
Inside Out is one of Pixar’s most highly-anticipated films in years for a number of reasons. The film is the first project from director Pete Docter, whose last film Up was a major hit with both critics and audiences around the world. Its release will also be two years following Monsters University, the last feature film from the studio, which amounts to the longest wait we have had to endure for a feature-length Pixar film since the two year wait between Toy Story 2 (Nov. 1999) and Monsters, Inc. Pixar Has Apparently “Completely Reimagined” ‘The Good Dinosaur’
Last August, we found out that director Bob Peterson had been taken off The Good Dinosaur after the film apparently hit creative difficulties. A group of Pixar directors including Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3), Mark Andrews (Brave), John Lasseter (Toy Story), and the film’s original co-director Pete Sohn took over. At the D23 Expo last summer, Disney and Pixar previewed Inside Out, the next film from Pete Docter (Monsters, Inc., Up), which takes us in the mind of a young girl. The main characters in the film will be her emotions, which should excite you because it is an ambitious idea for a film. In addition to seeing an early storyboard version of an incredible scene from the film, we learned who would voice the characters. Pete Docter has directed Monsters, Inc. and Up for Pixar, both of which are adored by fans and critics. When I learned he was working on a new project, I was excited to learn more. In 2011, the director shared the premise for his latest film, Inside Out, which would take us inside the human mind, later revealed to be that of a young girl.
