Watch: New ‘La Luna’ Clip In HD
Pixar’s newest critical darling, La Luna, is currently vying for an Academy Award in the Animated Shorts category. It is in a unique position for a Pixar short – all recent shorts from the animation studio have been released widely before being nominated, but La Luna will not get its wide release until June of this year. This means that many have yet to see the beautiful new short. A brief clip was released last year after the announcement of the film’s existence, but it provided more character development than plot. Now, Disney/Pixar has unveiled a new clip, which you can view in HD after the jump! [Read more…]
Watch: Clip From ‘Toy Story – Small Fry’
On the heels of its debut in theatres with The Muppets next week, Disney/Pixar is now giving us a look at the newest Toy Story Toon, Small Fry, in action (via HeyUGuys). The clip was first shown at the D23 Expo, where Pixar first announced the title and storyline for the next adventure for these wildly popular toys. Buzz is left behind at a fast-food restaurant and literally falls into a support meeting for unwanted toys (think Happy Meal-like toys). Take a look at the hilarious clip here. [Read more…]
Awesome: Luxo, Jr. Costume
The smell of Halloween is in the air, with many people still scrambling to put together a costume that will have others talking. Pixar characters have long been popular choices among costume designers. There is no shortage of characters to pick from – Woody, Buzz, Mr. Incredible, Nemo, Luxo, Jr., Carl and Ellie. Wait…Luxo, Jr.? That’s right. Video of a Luxo, Jr. costume from last year has surfaced (courtesy of Cartoon Brew), and it’s kind of awesome. Check out the video here! [Read more…]

Awesome: Toy Story Short Made Using Real-Life Toys
Mattel and Disney have teamed up to create a new Toy Story short, but not the kind we are used to seeing from Disney/Pixar. This short was created using the “Toy Story: Space Mission” toys that were recently released. One of the greatest things the “toymation video short” has going for it is that a child does all the voices for the characters, including that of Buzz, Woody, and Zurg. Similar to Andy in the Toy Story feature films, this takes us inside the mind of a child and exposes us to his imagination. Take a look at the video here and learn some cool facts on how the video was made! [Read more…]
First: New Video Details Pixar’s Collaboration On Cars 2 Video Game
I am excited to bring you a new behind-the-scenes video on “Cars 2: The Video Game,” which we are exclusively debuting alongside our fellow Pixar blogs. The video details just how involved Pixar was with the development of the game. I have written extensively about the strong partnership between Pixar and Avalanche, the developer of the game. As you will see in the video, Pixar brought Avalanche in very early in the production of Cars 2, so the film and the game evolved alongside each other. Pixar employees such as Story Supervisor Nathan Stanton, Animator Adam Burke, and Supervising Technical Director Apurva Shah were all on-board in helping extend Pixar’s vision into the video game world. Check out the fascinating video in hi-def here! [Read more…]
Video: A Day In The Life of John Lasseter
What does it take for an individual to oversee Pixar, Disney Animation, Disney theme parks, and direct Cars 2? Given that many of us would have a hard time managing just one of these tasks, the incredibly busy John Lasseter needs a regimented schedule in his life to accomplish all of the above. Walt Disney Studios has released a video detailing one day in the life of the director, and we can safely say that he does more than we can knock out in a week! Check out the 25-minute documentary below for the closest look at the life of John Lasseter that we have seen yet. [Read more…]
Cars 2 Clips – Japan Night Racing and Wasabi
Disney/Pixar released two new Cars 2 clips today – one is a sample of the racing that we will see, while the other shares the humor. In the clip entitled “Japan Fast Dirt Section,” we see Lightning McQueen show off some of the moves he learned in the original Cars from the great Doc Hudson. In the second clip, “Wasabi,” Mater mistakenly identifies a tray of wasabi as ice cream. The punch line is right at the end. Take a look at the clips in HD here! [Read more…]
New Cars 2 Ad Parodies Popular TV Shows, New Clip Released
With less than two weeks remaining until Cars 2 rolls into theaters, there is no stopping the promotional train now. Commercials for the film are popping up fairly often on TV. In addition, Disney has formed partnerships with companies such as State Farm to promote the film, so those ads are also rampant. Today, Disney/Pixar unveiled a new ad which parodies such TV shows as Law & Order: SVU and Dancing With The Stars. Also, a new clip from the film was recently released, where Mater and the gang ride a high-speed train. Check out the videos in HD here! [Read more…]
