With each Toy Story feature film, we are introduced to new toys, many of which have gone on to become fan favorites. When the trilogy ended and the franchise moved on to short films called Toy Story Toons, the memorable debuts did not stop there. Great new characters graced the screen, as they creatively recalled toys we often encounter every day. Some of the best gags in the Toy Story films are seeing hilarious versions of toys we grew up with. In the Toy Story Toon entitled Small Fry, Buzz Lightyear gets switched out with a kid’s meal version and hilarity ensues. The plot’s parody/celebration of fast food toys had fans clamoring for the release of the toys seen in the short. At the D23 Expo next week, we get one step closer to that reality as Mattel is releasing an exclusive Small Fry Buzz Lightyear figure. Take a look and find out how much it will cost after the break!

Download BT’s ‘PartySaurus Rex’ Track
Pixar films are often praised for their soundtracks in addition to their stories and characters. While we have access to soundtracks for the feature films, it is rare for the music from a Pixar short to be distributed outside of the studio. That changes with the latest Toy Story Toon, PartySaurus Rex, for which Grammy award-winning artist BT contributed the catchy tub-thumping music. Today, Disney and Pixar made the track available for download!
‘Toy Story’ Short ‘Partysaurus Rex’ Premieres Monday On The Disney Channel
Often, we have to wait a number of months after theater premieres before we have the opportunity to see Pixar films on the small screen. While the feature films make their way from theaters to Blu-rays and DVDs to premium movie channels before finally playing on TV sets around the country, Pixar shorts are a different story. The latest Toy Story Toon, entitled Partysaurus Rex, has been playing with Finding Nemo 3D for the last month. It will now be providing a larger audience with the ability to laugh at its hysterical storyline, as it will premiere Monday night on the Disney Channel.
New ‘Toy Story Partysaurus Rex’ Images Contrast New Toys With The Old
Toy Story‘s Rex has consistently been one of the funniest characters in the series due to his exaggerated anxious personality and preference in avoiding confrontations. Two stills have already been released, along with a 30-second clip, but we now have two more stills that give us a closer look at the new bath toys and also confirm that Woody and the gang are back. Take a look at the hi-res stills after the break!

Short Review: ‘Toy Story – Small Fry’
If we’ve learned one thing from Pixar’s Toy Story trilogy of films, it is this: It’s not easy being a toy. The new Toy Story Toon, Small Fry, currently playing in theatres with Disney’s The Muppets, further emphasizes this point and expands on the idea that all a toy wants is to be played with. The setup is great – Buzz Lightyear finds himself left behind at a fast food restaurant. In his attempt to escape, he accidentally comes across a group of discarded Fun Meal toys. In the meantime, a tiny Fun Meal sized version of Buzz stows away in Bonnie’s backpack hoping to get some playtime at home. The short intercuts between the two situations. [Read more…]
