Back when Disney bought Marvel, there was some curiosity as to whether Disney Animation or Pixar would ever produce a film utilizing superhero characters such as Iron Man, Hulk, Dr. Strange, and more. Although neither of those characters is making their way into a Disney animated film, Disney is currently working on Big Hero 6, a relatively new Marvel property that teams up a cast of unknowns. After Disney bought LucasFilm, the question turned to whether we would ever see an animated film from Disney or Pixar. A new report has emerged claiming that a plan is in motion for Pixar to work on a Star Wars film.
Why The Rumor That ‘Toy Story 4’ Is Coming In 2015 Must Be False
After the Toy Story trilogy was neatly wrapped up, many have wondered if Pixar would release a fourth film even though Andy’s story had come to an end. Rumors have been swirling ever since the third film was nearing completion and making its way to theaters, as the press often questioned director Lee Unkrich and others on the prospects of another follow-up. Back in 2011, actor Tom Hanks, the voice of Woody in the series, commented that he thought Pixar was already at work on a fourth film. Rumor: Pixar Thinking Of Making Doctor Strange Film?
Artist Brendan McCarthy, who recently drew a Doctor Strange/Spider-Man story for Marvel Comics, commented in an interview with Bad Librarianship that in a meeting with Disney, the idea of Pixar making a Doctor Strange film came up:
I was over in Hollywood earlier this year mooching about, and I had a meeting at Disney and the conversation drifted around to Pixar animating a Dr. Strange movie… Now, wouldn’t that be nice. [Read more…]
