‘The Incredibles’ 3D Version In Development

‘The Incredibles’ 3D Version In Development

Up was Pixar’s first film to be released in 3D, which means that there were nine previous films in the studio’s catalog that were solely developed for projection in 2D. In recent years, that has changed, as the first two Toy Story films, Monsters, Inc., and Finding Nemo were rereleased in theaters, but following a less-than-stellar box office performance from Monsters, Inc. 3D, Disney halted further rereleases. Now, we have word that we could be seeing a few other Pixar classics hit theaters again in the future.

First Look: Disneyland Paris’ ‘Ratatouille’ Ride

First Look: Disneyland Paris’ ‘Ratatouille’ Ride

Although Ratatouille is not on the higher end of Pixar films in terms of worldwide popularity (at least not when it is compared to juggernauts like the Toy Story films and Finding Nemo), the film is considered one of the best films from the animation studio by many. Less popular films, though, are also less likely to inspire theme park attractions, but a Ratatouille ride is finally on the way. Given the animated film’s setting in France, it is only fitting that the first attraction based on the property is currently being built at Disneyland Paris. The first image of the ride has been released, and you can take a look at it after the break!

‘Ratatouille’ Vinylmation Figures Coming To Epcot’s 2013 Food and Wine Festival

Wherever you have passionate fans, you have a group of collectors. Disney has a strong fan base and makes many products that cater directly to it. Vinylmation, a line of vinyl figures often shaped in the form of the company’s mascot Mickey Mouse, is certainly an example of a product that brings out the inner-collector of many Disney fans. Remy from Ratatouille, the critically-acclaimed 2007 Pixar film directed by Brad Bird, got his own Vinylmation figure as part of the Pixar series which was released last November. At this year’s Food and Wine Festival at Walt Disney World’s Epcot, Disney is set to release two more Vinylmation figures honoring a certain chef from the film. Take a peek after the break!

‘Ratatouille’ Attraction Heading To Disneyland Paris

February 28, 2013 by Samad Rizvi 2 Comments

‘Ratatouille’ Attraction Heading To Disneyland Paris

When it comes to Pixar properties, there are several that have had an attraction inspired by them at the various Disney Parks around the world. Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., A Bug’s Life, and Finding Nemo have existed at Disneyland, Disney World, and other parks for a number of years. Most notably, Cars Land, inspired by the town of Radiator Springs from the film series, opened last year at Disney California Adventure. Films such as WALL-E, Ratatouille, and Up have had their characters walking around, interacting with park guests, but no attractions had been created. It has just been announced, though, that a Ratatouille ride is now in the works. Find more details after the break!

PixArt: February Feature – Remy and Gusteau

We are so thrilled to feature this wonderful Ratatouille themed piece from artist Jared Andrew Schorr. Specializing in intricate paper cut illustrations, Schorr has been featured in some impressive venues. His beautifully crafted images have been seen in The New Yorker, Gallery Nucleus and Disney’s WonderGround Gallery just to name a few. Schorr created a few pieces for the WonderGround Gallery including  several Monsters Inc. pieces, a Wall-E piece and a Mickey Mouse piece. He was also  featured as the Resident Artist for the month of August 2012 while showing in the WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney District (Anaheim, CA). Every weekend of that month, guests were invited to watch Schorr in action – he created his paper cuts right there in the Gallery. While we’ve done our best to present this piece in photo form, you really have to see Schorr’s work in person to truly appreciate all the fine details that go into each piece. Read on for more about the artist in his own words!

PixArt: January Feature – Pixar Street

PixArt: January Feature – Pixar Street

Often times, a location or structure can be just as much of a character in a Pixar movie as any monster, superhero or bug.  This is particularly evident in our first PixArt feature of 2013. Artist and designer Mario Graciotti (aka Mr-Bluebird on DeviantArt) brings us this beautifully designed tribute to some of the iconic buildings from Pixar films.  Take a close look at each carefully constructed location. Graciotti’s attention to detail is what makes this and all of his other work such a feast for the eyes. Take a closer look at Mario’s artwork and read his story after the break!
