Disney Infinity has proven to be incredibly popular, with sets and figures often selling out at retailers. Recently, it was announced that the gaming platform had sold through over 1 million units, effectively branding the venture a great success for Disney Interactive and developer Avalanche Software. With the holidays rapidly approaching, and the hunt for gifts beginning, sales are just ramping up, especially as Disney has continued to pledge updates and new content. Each week, new Toy Boxes are uploaded for gamers to download (for free!) and explore, providing significantly more replay value than we have come to expect from games in this age. Today, several Toy Story-themed Toy Boxes have been unleashed, and you can take a look at them after the break!
‘Toy Story’ Play Set Heading To ‘Disney Infinity’
Toy Story is easily one of the most popular franchises at Disney, so it is only fitting that the series would receive its very own play set for Disney Infinity. Plans to release a play set for the huge property were announced at the D23 Expo in August. Now, we have more details and many more images featuring Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the gang. After the break, take a look at a collection of new images from the play set, watch a video delving into the set, and find out when you can pick one up!
Easter Egg: Pixar Ball Found In Mickey Mouse Short

Although his popularity has never faded, the Disney mascot has recently experienced a bit of a resurgence due to great new shorts starring the character. The artistic style of the shorts has been gorgeous, mixing classic character designs and humor with a modern setting. In the most recent short, while admiring the beautiful backgrounds, a familiar Pixar easter egg could be seen. Take a look at it after the break!
D23 Expo: Pixar’s Connection To Brad Bird’s ‘Tomorrowland’
Director Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Ratatouille) was on hand at the D23 Expo this past weekend as part of the Let The Adventures Begin: Live Action At The Walt Disney Studios presentation. Bird, along with co-writer Damon Lindelof (Lost), presented artifacts in their continued myth building for the 2014 Disney live-action film, Tomorrowland. The mysterious “1952” box, which has been utilized for the last several months to tease the film, was brought out on stage and explored in front of the audience. A few enigmatic items from the Disney studios past were unveiled, a doctored picture of Walt Disney with Amelia Earhart was shown and a vintage copy of Amazing Stories was used as a key for some cryptic message decoding. But by far the most interesting and entertaining portion of the presentation – and the bit that had me most intrigued about the project – was a clip of animation that has ties to Pixar.
Disney Infinity: Complete List Of Power Discs In Wave 1
The magic word in Disney Infinity is customizability, as the platform allows players to build their own worlds using a variety of Disney and Pixar franchises as inspiration. The ability to build comes in its Toy Box Mode, where characters from different worlds, such as Dash from The Incredibles and Mike from Monsters University can interact. While there will be a large number of options included in the game at start, power discs that unlock additional options will be sold at retailers. After the break, find a full gallery of the power discs that make up the first wave, along with descriptions of the power each of them will unlock!

Today, Disney Interactive has given us another idea of how huge the scope of the level of customization will be – you can build your own tracks for the characters to race on. After the break, you can check out video, photos, and more details of the track builder in Disney Infinity!

The Potential of Exclusive ‘Disney Infinity’ Figurines Is Enormous
After walking out of the Disney Infinity announcement event in Hollywood last month, I found myself wondering where the boundaries of the game lay. Allowing gamers to collect and interact with dozens of character figurines that can then be plugged into the game, releasing power tokens (in blind packs) that can be used to provide the characters with abilities and vehicles, and including numerous nods to beloved Disney franchises such as Ducktales (Uncle Scrooge’s vault), are some of the factors that demonstrate the huge possibilities. Considering that trading will be expected with the power tokens, as players will have a disctint collection, there is further potential in adding limited-edition and exclusive figurines to the mix. It would be mind-blowing for the trading market.
Ambitious ‘Disney Infinity’ Game Unveiled
Video games on home consoles are facing a serious threat from the increasing popularity of the mobile platform, which has the ability to easily deliver new content to millions of gamers for a lower price than the next generation platforms such as the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii are used to. Disney Interactive has decided to get a bit creative and shake up the traditional disc-only model by adding collectible figurines and power discs that enhance the onscreen play. I was invited to Hollywood yesterday to see the game, Disney Infinity, up-close – find all the details I uncovered on this ambitious new gaming initiative after the break!
‘Disney Infinity’ To Be First Game To Include Both Disney And Pixar Characters
The memorable worlds that have been dreamed up by Disney and Pixar number in the dozens. Films and shorts have the ability to transport audiences into escapist fantasy, upon which games can add another level of interaction. Last year’s Disney Universe console game was the first console game to bring together the worlds of the two well-known studios, also allowing gamers to wear costumes inspired by the characters. Disney Infinity, which is set to be formally be announced next month, is set to take it one step further by bringing the actual characters from Pixar and Disney together. Find more details about the game after the break!
