Ever since the first Toy Story arrived in theaters in 1995, many people (including myself) have been clamoring for Disney to build a real Pizza Planet that is modeled after its namesake from the film. Various Disney theme parks have delivered pizza restaurants with the Pizza Planet name, but these spaces did not come close to recreating their film counterpart, whether it came to the interior or the exterior. ‘Inside Out’ Attraction Opening At Disneyland This Summer
When Pixar Pier opened in 2018, there were several attractions that had been re-themed to fit various Pixar films – California Screamin’ became the Incredicoaster and Mickey’s Fun Wheel turned into the Pixar Pal-A-Round. One area of Pixar Pier, though, remained unfinished. The Inside Out neighborhood awaited its attraction, which was not set to open until this year. Hollywood Studios’ 30th Anniversary Celebration Accompanied By More Pixar At The Park
Yesterday, Disney’s Hollywood Studios park at Walt Disney World celebrated its 30th Anniversary. When the park first debuted in 1989, it was named MGM Studios and it would be years before Pixar released its first feature film, Toy Story. Now, Pixar enjoys a large presence at the theme park, with several of the most popular rides being Toy Story-themed. New ‘Toy Story’ Sit-Down Restaurant Headed To Walt Disney World
Last year, Toy Story Land opened in Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios to great fanfare and brought with it two brand new rides – Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers. In addition, there was a walk-up food station dubbed Woody’s Lunch Box, where guests could grab sandwiches and other simple food items. Pixar Fest is a first for Disney as well as Pixar. We have seen limited-time Star Wars-themed events in addition to Marvel-takeovers, but we have never seen a Pixar celebration to the scale we are seeing now. Pixar Play Parade Has Returned to Disneyland With Great New Additions
Parades are a staple of the Disney Parks. Kids and adults, alike, are drawn to the parades for a number of reasons. You are exposed to a barrage of famed Disney characters – you will see more in the span of 15 minutes than anywhere else. The characters also frequently ride in on large, creative floats. Then, there is the music that accompanies the parade, a main theme playing alongside music associated with each set of characters. Parades appeal to our inner child (and/or our nostalgic side), reminding us of the sense of wonder we experienced when we first watched these characters on screen.
