Watch: Final ‘Toy Story 4’ Trailer Reminds Us Why These Toys Made Us Cry

We are just one month away from the theatrical release of Toy Story 4. The last Toy Story film, released almost 10 years ago, placed a spotlight on Andy’s relationship with his toys, given that he hadn’t played with them in years and was off to college – the story ended in a bittersweet moment that made millions sob openly. Toy Story 4 is the first feature film with Bonnie as the toys’ new owner1, but it looks like the heart that made the first three films special hasn’t gone anywhere.

CLOSE QUARTERS – In Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4,” Bo Peep takes Woody to a secret hangout within the antique store—the inside of a vintage pinball machine—where a lot of toys go to socialize.

The film is centered around the return of beloved character Bo Peep (voiced by Annie Potts), who was sorely missed when she didn’t appear in Toy Story 3. We learn what the character has been up to since we last saw her. There are also several new characters entering the mix, including Forky (voiced by Tony Hale), which is the first DIY toy that the franchise sees come to life. With Forky questioning who he is and why he is alive, we will be seeing him and, perhaps several other toys, having an existential crisis.

The final trailer for the film, which gives us a peek at some of the new character arcs, was released today. Watch it below:

In addition to Forky, the trailer shines a light on other new characters like Duke Caboom (voiced by Keanu Reeves), Ducky (Keegan-Michael Key), and Bunny (Jordan Peele). The list of new toys do not stop there – actresses Christina Hendricks and Ally Maki also voice notable new characters (Gabby Gabby and Giggle McDimples, respectively). After the credits roll, you are guaranteed to want to adopt one of these new characters to add to your toy collection – you will want to hold onto something tight as you sob all over again.

NEW FRIEND! – In Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4,” Bonnie makes a new friend in kindergarten orientation—literally. When Forky—Bonnie’s craft-project-turned-toy—declares himself trash and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy.

The synopsis of Toy Story 4 is below:

Woody (voice of Tom Hanks) has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. So, when Bonnie’s beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky (voice of Tony Hale), declares himself as “trash” and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy. But when Bonnie takes the whole gang on her family’s road trip excursion, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep (voice of Annie Potts). After years of being on her own, Bo’s adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior. As Woody and Bo realize they’re worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find that’s the least of their worries.

Toy Story 4 hits theaters on June 21st.
