Pixar Fest is a first for Disney as well as Pixar. We have seen limited-time Star Wars-themed events in addition to Marvel-takeovers, but we have never seen a Pixar celebration to the scale we are seeing now. Although the influence of Pixar’s films can be spotted throughout the Disneyland Resort (and many other Disney Parks), Pixar Fest is the first time that the studio’s characters are the headlining attraction at the Parks for the summer season. There is a great deal of thought and planning that went into putting together Pixar Fest. I had a chance to conduct an interview where we hear about this collaboration between Pixar and Disney Parks – watch the video interview after the break!
Go through the list of Pixar films and you may be reminded of the sheer level of characters that you have connected with – Woody, Jessie, and Buzz; Carl and Russell; Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and their family; WALL-E and EVE; Miguel and his large extended family. Then, think about the music in these films and how memorable they are. The characters, music, and stories were large components of creating Pixar Fest. It was an event a year in the making, underlining the incredible amount of time and effort taken to bring it to park-goers. Watch my interview, in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, where we talk about how Disney and Pixar collaborated to make the limited-time event a reality:
As discussed in the video, there are also some exciting things to look forward to. During Pixar Fest, a dazzling new Incredibles float will join the Paint the Night parade and Pixar Pier will officially open at Disney California Adventure. Like I have said before, this is a limited-time event and will be coming to an end on September 3rd. That does not leave a lot of time to plan if you want to enjoy this with your family and friends. Get to it!
