Over the years, we have gotten many glimpses of Pixar’s gorgeous campus. Most of these images and videos have been nothing short of teases of what it is like to walk around the studio, which is based in Emeryville, California. Last week, Disney hosted an in-depth tour through several areas of Pixar, some of which are usually seen only by employees (translation: even if you are lucky enough to get a tour – Pixar is not open to the public – you may not be allowed into some of these areas). After the break, take a tour through some of these spaces you’ve always wanted to see, like the studio’s store.
Disney tasked Pixar employee Nick Pitera, who also has quite a following on YouTube for his unique vocal abilities, to give a live tour. Given that the video was shared live, it allowed for some unique interactions with viewers, such as a Q & A as well as polls on which parts of Pixar to visit. We get some great looks at incredible spaces such as the recording studio, John Lasseter’s crazy office, and studio store (which sells many items that are available exclusively to those at the studio). With Coco, Pixar’s holiday 2017 offering that is on the horizon, we also get a peek at how the interior design has been influenced in the animation department. Speaking of design, Pixar employees are given great autonomy to design creative workspaces, which we get a nice look at.
