There are several Pixar franchises that have proven to be incredibly successful when it comes to the associated merchandise. Toy Story toys continue to see huge sales, and Cars characters can be found on everything from bed sheets to gummy snacks. The studio’s next film, Inside Out, features five characters that are practically perfect for the toy market. After the break, get a glimpse at some of the toys that will arrive alongside the film!
Joy, Disgust, Anger, Fear, and Sadness are five human emotions – they also happen to be characters that will represent what goes on inside the mind of young Riley in Inside Out. There is bound to be broad appeal for the characters, which is what makes them perfect for the toy industry. Children will have their favorite characters, and considering that there will be at least five to choose from, there is strong potential for some great lines of toys.
Disney Consumer Products announced this week that its premiere line-up of Inside Out toys would be manufactured by the Japanese company TOMY. In a press release, John Lasseter discussed choosing the company, stating, “When I visited TOMY’s headquarters in Japan, I was impressed by their commitment to quality and craftsmanship. The toys they’ve created for Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur are fantastic—they’ve truly brought our characters to life.” That is right – TOMY is already at work on toys for Pixar’s dinosaur film as well.

Inside Out could very well be the next big franchise for Disney/Pixar and the toy industry. The film arrives on June 19th, while you should start seeing toys in the weeks leading up to it.
