With the recent release of Monsters University on Blu-ray and DVD, you might think that Pixar would be done with the franchise for the near future. However, the studio announced at last summer’s D23 Expo that a new short, Party Central, starring Mike and Sulley in their college years would be arriving soon! Those in attendance at the Disney convention had the opportunity to view the entire thing, and now you can take a peek at a clip from the short after the break!
Described as a sequence that MU Story Supervisor (and Party Central writer/director) Kelsey Mann wanted to include in the film in some format, but was unable to find the avenue to do so, the short takes us inside an Oozma Kappa party and gives us a look at the antics of Mike and Sulley.

I was in attendance at the big Disney Animation panel, where upcoming Pixar and Disney films were previewed. Throughout the viewing of Party Central, the thousands of fans in the auditorium were laughing hysterically. The short certainly leans on the film’s comedic angle, and uses it to its advantage. Although the clip above only gives us a small hint of the crazy party we can expect, do know that it is one incredible party.
Party Central will play before Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted, which hits North American theaters March 21st!
