For a long time, I have toyed with the idea of launching a sister site to The Pixar Times, one that would primarily cover Disney and its other subsidiaries. I have a great fondness for classic disney animated films along with some of their live-action endeavors. I adore Disney’s theme parks and cruise ships for their attention to detail and storytelling, and for their ability to transport guests to a fantastic place, where incredible customer service is the norm. However, I did not want to start a Disney-centric site without significant planning to ensure its quality. I am pleased to announce that the site is now live, and it is, of course, called The Disney Times.
The Disney Times will function much like its sister, The Pixar Times, does. There will be frequent posts covering the latest news on Disney films, theme parks and cruise line, in addition to various tie-ins such as toys, merchandise, and video games. Disney has had quite an impact on our culture as well, providing inspiration to artists and other creatives, and we look forward to sharing their work with you also. Topics covered will also undoubtedly evolve to cover more. There are a wealth of Disney blogs and sites that already exist and we are excited to join them
I want to be clear about how this will all affect operations at The Pixar Times – it should not. Our staff here, including me, will continue to share our passion about Pixar, and are not going anywhere. Although there are downtimes (we are staring at one now), where Pixar happenings are infrequent, we will continue to be there to bring you the latest in Pixar news, discussion, and original artwork. The community that has joined The Pixar Times has shared in our passion, and I am sincerely thankful to every single individual who has been along for the ride. I hope that our readers continue to enjoy our content far into the future.
What will be affected, though, is the design of this site, which will look much more like The Disney Times in the near future. I will be migrating The Pixar Times to a new server as well, which should provide a much-needed speed boost and a greater amount of stability. As a result of these changes, you should be able to absorb our content more easily, and it should also appear more pleasing to the eye. I will provide an update soon on when these changes should be expected.
I invite you to head over to The Disney Times, follow it on Twitter and Facebook, and join in the community there as well!
