It is quite obvious that UK Artist Natalie Smith has a soft spot for the worlds and characters of Pixar and Disney. Take a look through her work and you’ll find tributes to Toy Story‘s Mr. Pricklepants, Monsters University (as featured in our Monsters Mash-Up Tribute earlier this year) and Mickey Mouse. She definitely brings a distinct style to her whimsical character designs and illustrations. Check them out for yourself at her website (currently under construction) and her dribbble account where you will see her passion extends to the worlds of superheroes as well. My favourite Pixar movie is:
Technically more than one, but I love Wall-E; Ratatouille and the Toy Story Trilogy.
My favourite Pixar character is:
Argh… There’s too many great characters to choose from! If I have to pick one, I’ll go for Wall-E.
Tell us about your piece:
I had quite a few ideas, but finally narrowed it down to this one. I wanted to do something fun and bright, but I also wanted to capture Wall-E’s awe and intrigue at the arrival of Eve.
Who or what inspires you?
Pretty much everything!
Recommend something, anything to our readers:
I’m really not just saying this because it’s a Pixar site, but I couldn’t recommend Pixar’s “Art of Books” enough. The artwork is truly amazing and inspiring.
