We are now less than three weeks away from Toy Story OF TERROR!, Pixar’s first television special. Although the project is not quite as large as a feature film, the 30-minute special is still a significantly larger production than the shorts the studio releases every year. More importantly, this will provide us with the largest opportunity to spend time with the lovable cast of toys since the release of the finale of the feature film trilogy, Toy Story 3. On the heels of our exclusive debut of a new image from the special featuring Combat Carl, Disney has released five more images. Take a look at the great stills after the break!
With the debut of promotion material for Combat Carl, voiced by Carl Weathers, the character is understandably featured in several of the images Disney unveiled today (via Cinema Blend). In addition, Jessie and Mr. Pricklepants are featured, as they have larger roles in the special. Similar to how Hawaiian Vacation focused in on Barbie and Ken, and Partysaurus Rex showcased Rex, Toy Story of Terror will provide Jessie with the biggest role. It is a long time coming for the fan-favorite character, who is voiced by Joan Cusack.
Mr. Pricklepants, voiced by Timothy Dalton, provides some of the comic relief in his expanded role, as he explains to the other toys the events that tend to occur in horror films. Of course, when the creepy atmosphere sets in, it has all of the toys on edge. Take a look at the rest of the images below!
The plot synopsis for the TV special is below:
Heading to the small screen before Halloween, Toy Story of Terror features the gang taking a road trip to Bonnie’s grandmother’s house before everything takes an unexpected turn. On a detour leading them to a roadside motel, one of the toys goes missing, and the others find themselves caught in an eerie turn of events that must be stopped before they suffer the same fate.
Toy Story OF TERROR! makes its debut October 16th on ABC at 8 pm EST!
