Toy Story was Pixar’s first feature film so it is only fitting that the incredibly popular toys from the franchise star in the studio’s first television special. Set to debut during the Halloween season, the 30-minute Toy Story OF TERROR! reunites the toys and their famous voices including Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen), Jessie (Joan Cusack), and Mr. Pricklepants (Timothy Dalton). Joining them is Combat Carl, who will be voiced by Carl Weathers, famous for his role in Predator. To celebrate the launch of the new Toy Story of Terror online game, Creepy Crawl Space, we are debuting a brand new still from the TV special featuring the character. Take a closer look at the image and find more details about the game after the break!
After a Combat Carl action figure briefly appeared in the first Toy Story, a figure from the fictional line of toys almost made it into Toy Story 3 but was left on the cutting room floor. Now, Combat Carl is getting his time in the spotlight with a larger appearance in Toy Story of Terror. Pixar also went creative in the casting department by choosing Weathers, who starred as Major George Dillon in Predator, to embody the character.
The character also makes an appearance in the new online game on Disney.com, Creepy Crawl Space. The game is a fun adventure taking the characters of Jessie, Buzz, and Woody through a maze on the hunt for missing toys. However, they encounter a mysterious being that they must successfully avoid in order to get out.
Here is the full description of the game:
Inspired by the original Pixar television special ‘Toy Story of Terror’ this mysterious maze game challenges players to find missing toys, while avoiding a lurking, shadowy claw. Players will join Jessie, Woody and Buzz Lightyear on their quest to locate their pals and find a way out!
The order of characters in the description is not coincidental as Jessie is the headliner of the television special, and so leads the pack of toys in the game as well. Fans who have been clamoring for the character to have a bigger role have had their voices heard, as the cowgirl will have her biggest role yet.
Toy Story OF TERROR! makes its debut October 16 at 8 pm EST on ABC. You can pass the time by heading over to Disney.com and trying to find your way out of the maze in Creepy Crawl Space. Also keep an eye out for and collect those great Luxo, Jr. balls in the game!
