‘Monsters University’ Topiaries Invade Epcot

March 9, 2013 by Samad Rizvi Leave a Comment

Every spring, Epcot hosts a Flower & Garden Festival at Walt Disney World and places intricately trimmed topiaries of various Disney characters throughout the park. The appearance of Pixar characters such as Buzz, Woody, and Lightning McQueen is a given every year, with the level of their popularity. This year, with the release of Monsters University rapidly approaching, the theme park has put up a great display featuring main characters Mike and Sulley. Take a look at the topiaries after the break!

MouseSteps visited Epcot and captured many photos of the display. First to be added were Mike Wazowski and the entrance gate for the fictional university. If you take a closer look, they even included the braces that the hilarious green character will fashion in the film:

If there is one group of people that rivals Pixar when it comes to attention to detail, it is the Disney Imagineers and the designers who work on rides and park elements such as these topiaries. Next to Mike is a pile of textbooks on the subject of scaring:

A few days later, Sulley joined Mike, which you can take a look at in the close-up video below, also captured by MouseSteps:

Head on over to MouseSteps for much more coverage of the festival.

The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is up and running through Sunday, May 19.
