Last week, Disney/Pixar officially unveiled the third Toy Story Toon, Partysaurus Rex, with first details and two new images from the short. We learned that it would center around Rex leading a rave-style party in a bathtub, which may be challenging to think about before you have seen it. Imagine no longer, as we have our first look at footage from the new short with a 40-second clip. Take a look at the clip in HD after the break! (UPDATE: After being taken down Wednesday, the video is now back up.)
The hilarious footage brings us a boatload of new toys, which will likely lead you to wonder when you can buy some of them in stores. If you doubted the creativity of the characters in the Toy Story feature films, observe the great imagination of Pixar employees below:
Apparently, last night was the first time the short was shown to non-Pixar and -Disney employees, as director Mark Walsh tweeted the following:
Just showed
#Partysaurus Rex to it’s first outside audience. Hope the laughter was real!— Mark Walsh (@WalshingMachine) August 15, 2012
From his perspective, it certainly sounds like it played well. For further confirmation of its quality, Steven from Collider was there and seemed to enjoy it:
At screening they premiered the new TOY STORY short. It’s about Rex and it’s a lot of fun. Also FINDING NEMO has never looked this good.
