‘Brave’ Easter Eggs – Pizza Planet Truck, Sulley From ‘Monsters University’

July 3, 2012 by Samad Rizvi 6 Comments

Aside from the fun of enjoying a new Pixar film every year, fans have grown accustomed to hunting down easter eggs hidden by Pixar employees. After its debut in Toy Story, the Pizza Planet Truck has appeared in every Pixar film, aside from The Incredibles. Additionally, we are regularly provided with a hint of a character from the studio’s next film. With Brave seeing release on June 22, many fans have found some of the cleverly hidden easter eggs. After the break, check out hi-res images showing where these gems are hidden!

Disney/Pixar has released images and descriptions of the following easter eggs:

ANCIENT DELIVERY – The Witch, an eccentric crone disguised as a woodcarver specializing in whittling wooden bear figurines and conjuring haphazard spells, showcases her mysterious and inexplicable knowledge of the future with a carved figurine of the infamous Pizza Planet truck, an iconic delivery vehicle that’s appeared in nearly every full-length feature film from Pixar Animation Studios since 1995’s Toy Story. Disney•Pixar’s Brave is in theaters now.

NO MONSTERS IN THE CLOSET – A carving of Sulley, the lovable blue monster slated to return to the big screen in 2013’s Monsters University, appears on a piece of wood in the home of the Witch, an eccentric crone and woodcarver in Disney•Pixar’s epic action adventure Brave, in theaters now.

Many people had found the Pizza Planet Truck in the film, but the hint to a character from Monsters University was a bit more challenging to find. Above, we can see that Sulley is carved into a piece of wood. With the witch having figures and carvings all throughout her cottage, it has become apparent that this was the best place for Pixar to hide some easter eggs in Brave. After all, if you have a Pizza Planet Truck driving through the kingdom, it would be quite a bit of disservice to the story.

We also know that there is supposed to be an A113 easter egg (don’t know what that is? – watch this video), but Disney/Pixar will presumably unveil that down the line. Nobody outside of Pixar seems to have found that one, though the witch’s cottage would be a good place for us to start looking.

Disney/Pixar has not yet confirmed it, but we think we have found an easter egg in Brave honoring the now-canceled Pixar film, newt. Take a look at the evidence here.
