Late last night, we had the arrival of the first piece of concept art from Pixar’s first prequel film, Monsters University, with the promise of a new teaser trailer. Early this morning, Disney/Pixar quadrupled down on that promise with the release of four different versions of the MU trailer! We won’t spoil the teaser, as it is laugh-on-the-floor hilarious, but the various versions involve slightly different lines from Mike Wazowski (once again voiced by the great Billy Crystal). Watch all the different versions of the teaser after the break, and take a look at the first stills from the film!

I love how Pixar used the beginning of the teaser for Monsters, Inc. as the opening for the MU teaser. It is hilarious, it honors its sequel, yet goes beyond it – three qualities that I hope to see next year throughout the film.
Additionally, here are the very first stills from the film (which happen to be from the teaser):
Why so many versions of the teaser? “Billy Crystal’s an amazing comedic actor,” remarked Dan Scanlon, Director, Disney•Pixar’s Monsters University. “He gave us so much fun material, we decided to cut four slightly different versions of the trailer. We are so happy to have him back as Mike!”
Which version of the teaser was your favorite?
Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. “Monsters University” unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.
Screaming with laughter and fun, “Monsters University” is directed by Dan Scanlon (“Cars,” “Mater and the Ghostlight,” “Tracy”) and produced by Kori Rae (“Up,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.”). The film opens in U.S. theaters on June 21, 2013, and will be shown in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.
