We can’t wait until Pixar unleashes its latest release to audiences this summer. Brave, opening June 22, promises to be something exciting and new from the studio. Much of the buzz about the Lamp’s thirteenth feature has revolved around the film’s lead – Merida. This will be the first Pixar film to feature a female lead. While this may be true, fans know Pixar films have always featured great female characters. So, in honor of Merida, PixArt will salute the many great female characters of Pixar films throughout the month of June.
We’re putting out a call to artists to submit your best take on any of the female characters in Pixar’s films and shorts. Sure, the boys can be in there too. Just make sure the female character is featured prominently in your piece. Just about anything goes – mash-ups, group shots, ultra-stylized – if you can imagine it, we’ll feature it.
Remember – this is all for fun. We want this to be a fun and creative way to channel your excitement for Pixar’s latest release. As we’ve seen from past tributes, The Pixar Times has some of the most talented followers and avid fans. We can’t wait to see what you come up with this time.
