With Brave, there are definitely some toys and collectibles to be released that can take full advantage of the film’s characters and story. For one, Merida has a unique appearance to her, what with all that curly red hair flowing from her head. She is also quite a master at archery, having the precision to hit a target dead-on from far away. Can you say archery set? After the jump, take a look at a few pieces of Brave merchandise that have arrived and are coming soon to your local Disney Store.
There is an adorable Merida doll that looks similar to the dolls that have been released under the Disney Animators’ Collection. The official Brave Facebook page (if you are outside of the U.S., you may have difficulty accessing the Facebook pages) shared a picture of the Merida doll, which has an awesome grin:
Tumblr user PrettySeed posted a close-up of the doll in its packaging, which confirms that it is not related to the Disney Animators’ Collection (Brave is a Pixar film after all):
The aforementioned archery set (sans pointy arrows) will likely be a popular choice among children (though, I am sure teens and adults will not mind taking a few shots after they see Merida’s skills on the screen). The Brave Facebook page shared a photo of that as well:
Tumblr user Stephanie Cornelius took a close-up shot of the set, which has some great markings on the side of the bow:
When Disney/Pixar started to release stills from the film that showed just how much hair Merida had, I wondered what creative things the merchandise designers would do. Stephanie posted a couple photos of Merida dolls, which are examples of how her hair is being transferred to the real world:
Finally, the Disney Parks Blog announced that they have launched a Vinylmation Store on it’s Facebook page (it’s an app), which will have some exclusive Vinylmations for sale. Also, some Vinylmations will be available on Facebook before they hit Disney Parks, which is good news for those who are not near Orlando or Anaheim. The Blog also posted a first look at a Brave Vinylmation set, which will be available on May 4:
With the film’s release growing ever closer, expect more Brave toys and collectibles to arrive at Disney Stores, as well as a variety of other retailers (e.g. Target, Amazon, etc.).
