When The Incredibles and Ratatouille director Brad Bird announced that he would be making the transition to live-action by becoming the next in a line of directors to tackle the Mission: Impossible franchise, I was intrigued. Watching his direction in the Pixar films and listening to him talk about his work in interviews and commentaries, Bird has always struck me as a brilliant artist. Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol smashed its way into theaters last December and delivered, as it was an incredibly enjoyable and smart action thriller. You can now bring it home to your TV screen, as the Blu-ray and DVD are now on sale.
I had the chance to watch the film on a massive IMAX screen and it is hard to think of many other films that utilized the large format to its advantage (Christopher Nolan‘s recent blockbusters being some of the few). Then, I watched Ghost Protocol again a few weeks back on a flight and while the small screen paled in comparison to my theater experience, the story and the action sequences sucked me in all over again.
As of today, the film is now available in two sets, a 2-Disc Blu-ray and a 1-Disc DVD
, which Amazon currently has on sale for $19.99 and $15.49, respectively. If you have not had the chance to check it out, I highly recommend the film!
