On the heels of the release of Pixar’s newest short, Toy Story – Small Fry, the studio has released some more images from the seven minute film. Courtesy of IGN, we have two more images from the short, which has Buzz Lightyear being switched out with a tiny fast-food version of himself. I’ve seen the film and it is filled to the brim with a great cast of new creative characters. Take a look at the newly released images after the jump.
As we have heard before, unused ideas at Pixar tend to show up in later films in one form or another, so it is not surprising to hear that the mermaid character of Neptuna (played by actress Jane Lynch) was developed by director Angus MacLane long before the debut of this short. MacLane actually pitched her character for Toy Story 3, but she did not make it into the finished film.
Make sure to check out the full article at IGN, as they have many more tidbits about the short’s development in an interview with the director.
Collider also has an in-depth interview with MacLane, which you can read here.
Toy Story – Small Fry rolls into theatres tomorrow and is playing before each screening of The Muppets.
