Who could that be knockin’ on PixArt’s door? Why, it’s everybody’s favorite Wilderness Explorer! We have UK artist Wayne Harris to thank for this really fun take on Russell from Up. We love Harris’ style and character designs. Make sure to check out his personal site for more great and often hilarious takes on some famous characters and personalities. I currently live in:
Cardiff in Wales, a small country hardly anyone knows exists which is part of Great Britain! Famous for hills, rain & sheep.
I consider my hometown to be:
Right here!
My favorite Pixar movie is:
It’s so hard to choose anything over The Incredibles (as I’m a HUGE super-hero fan) or Wall-E (as I also love science-fiction) but I’m going for Up as it was simply a beautiful film in every sense of the word.
My favorite Pixar character is:
I have no idea! There’s so many it’s really hard to pick put just one…Wall-E is pretty awesome though, I guess!
Tell us about your piece:
Russell is such a cool and appealing character so I wanted to try to capture his cheekyness, seen from Carl’s point of view when they first meet!
Who/what inspires you?
I love Genndy Tartakovsky’s and Craig McCracken’s work so much, Also, “Samurai Jack,” “Fosters,” “Dexter” and what very little I’ve seen of “Sym-Bionic Titan” as well.
Recommend something, anything to our readers:
I’m watching so much Japanese animation at the moment. The last one I watched was “Five Centimetres Per Second,” which is very moving and has some of the most amazing visuals I’ve seen.
Where else can we follow your work?
Besides my website, I am also on Twitter and Flickr.
Thanks to Wayne for giving us more Russell! Who doesn’t love him?
