In June, PixArt took a small detour to Radiator Springs with our countdown to Cars 2. But now we’re back on track with an all-new piece from German artist Christian Lindemann. Mike meets the aliens and the birds in this wonderful mash-up of Pixar favorites. Please check out Christian’s great illustrations and design at his website. Read on for more information about the artist in his own words.

I currently live in:
Burgdorf, a small town outside Hannover, North Germany. My office is above our famiy cinema. My granparents owned the cinema in our town and now my parents and I are running it. It´s called Neueschauburg.
I consider my hometown to be:
Not far from where I´m now.
My Favorite Pixar Movie is:
This has changed over the years. But I´d say Up and The Incredibles are my favourites so far. I especially like Up because of its great mix between a funny and heartwarming story with very nice characters.
My Favorite Pixar character is:
I don´t have a real favourite Pixar character. There seems to be so many of them. But I really like Kevin and Russel from Up. Kevin is so nicely overexcited and funny.
Tell us about your piece:
I wanted to make a fun piece with a mix of characters. Because I like to draw monsters, immediately Mike came into my mind.
Who/What inspires you?
Inspiration can come from so many and different fields and it´s so personal, I can´t say exactly looking at but right now and back in the day, I get inspired by movies and books (I´m always looking for old children books). Nature and animals are a huge inspiration too. Of course there are also a lot of artists I really like: Tim Biskup, Charley Harper and Marc Boutavant just to name a few.
Recommend something, anything to our readers:
If you can, go by bike to work. It´s really mind-refreshing. And try to watch movies in a local, nice little cinema. Maybe there is one left were you live. I think I´m not saying anything new but Todd Oldhams book about Charley Harper “An Illustrated Life” is a classic for me. Have a look Drawger for great illustrators and some insights in the scene.
Where else can we see your stuff?
I’m working on my own t-shirt brand called Alive. Have a look at Alive Shirts if you like.
Thanks for the awesome artwork, Christian!
