Over the years, San Diego Comic Con has evolved into a pop culture behemoth. Originally envisioned to be a comic book convention, movie studios have arguably taken over and now fight to create buzz for their products. In the past, Pixar has held a panel promoting its upcoming film, such as when Andrew Stanton led a WALL-E panel in 2007. However, this year, Disney is taking its subsidiaries, Pixar and Marvel Studios, out of Comic Con and moving them over to its own D23 Expo, to be held a few weeks later. Read on for more details!
ComingSoon was the first to report that Disney has released an updated schedule of events for the D23 Expo. Pixar and Disney Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter will be part of a Walt Disney Studios panel:

A fascinating behind-the-scenes glimpse at the exciting roster of projects on the horizon at The Walt Disney Studios. From exclusive video clips and live performances to filmmaker discussions and star appearances, this session will be hosted by Rich Ross, chairman, The Walt Disney Studios; Sean Bailey, president, Production, The Walt Disney Studios; John Lasseter, chief creative officer, Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios; and Kevin Feige, president, Production, Marvel Studios.
It will be interesting to see what John Lasseter has up his sleeve for the presentation. If you are attending D23, this will definitely be a panel to see!
