On Sunday night, Disney held its annual International Upfronts where the studio shared news and clips from its upcoming television shows and films. As subsidiaries, ESPN, ABC Family, and Pixar often play a large role in the presentation and yesterday was no different. With Cars 2 coming next month, Disney shared a first look at the next big Pixar project, Brave. According to WorldScreen.com, Rich Ross, the Walt Disney Studios chairman, played a “clip” from the 2012 film for attendees.
Given the early stage of animation that Brave is likely in currently, the “clip” that WorldScreen is referring to is probably a teaser trailer for the film. This all but confirms that we will be seeing a Brave teaser trailer attached to Cars 2. In the past, the studio has built buzz for its forthcoming projects by attaching teaser trailers with their new feature film releases. While Toy Story 3 did not have a Cars 2 teaser playing with it, this was largely seen as an exception rather than the new norm.
Pixar has not yet confirmed whether we will see a Brave teaser with Cars 2, but as the June 24 release date grows ever closer, we will find out for sure.
