La Luna, a brand new Pixar short, was officially announced to the world on Thursday, bringing with it a nice amount of excitement from Pixar fans and film fans alike. The short revolves around three characters: a young boy, his father, and his grandfather. It is safe to assume that the moon will play a role as well. Beyond the film’s first image and synopsis that were rolled out, we do not have any other details as to the story of the film. However, buried within the promotional material that Disney/Pixar released for the short, we came across what is most probably the logo for La Luna. Check it out here!
UPDATE: The image directly below is the title treatment, but we now have the actual logo. Check it out at the bottom of this post!
Simple yet elegant. Often, a logo for a Pixar film displays some aspect of that film’s story. With the film taking the characters out on the water, the bluish hue and the way the letters form the six letters in the logo, we are reminded of ocean waves. Whether that was the intention of the logo creator or if it is a figment of our imaginations, we are not sure. Also, if you check out the image that was released yesterday, you will notice the ‘L’ on the bottom right painted on the boat. “La Luna” could just be the name of the boat. What we do know for sure is that we are beyond excited to see another original short from the animation studio.

UPDATE (3:30 PM): Pixar has confirmed with us that the image above is simply the title treatment. For the actual logo, the studio has something a bit more special for us. Here it is – the official logo for La Luna in hi-res!
Now, that is just stunning!
