Pixar has always been passionate about assisting charities, with John Lasseter often leading by example. Each year before the release of its film, the studio holds several early screenings to raise money and awareness for worthy causes. Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF) recently announced plans for a Cars 2 screening being held on June 11, which is about two weeks prior to the official release date for the film. Read on for more details!
A ticket to the event includes a dinner party, screenings of Cars 2, a tour of the studio, and a dessert reception. Additionally, auctions of some great Pixar items will be held throughout the evening. Groups looking to attend can also reserve tables which will seat 10 people each.
Without a doubt, the Cars 2 screenings will be one of the highlights of the evening, as the film is not set to hit theaters for a few weeks afterwards. With all of the money going to a great cause, this is going to be one amazing night.

UPDATE (5/24/11): Recently, as part of an expansion process, Pixar opened a stunning new building on their campus. Brooklyn, as the building is referred to internally, will be the setting for the cocktail party and auction space. So, not only will attendees be able to view Cars 2 a full 13 days before the film’s release, but they will also be able to walk through the fantastic new addition to Pixar Animation Studios! There is still some time left to buy tickets. Visit the official site for more details.
