Mash-up: Pixar And The X-Men

April 15, 2011 by Samad Rizvi 2 Comments

Mash-ups are fairly simple to create. One simply needs to take characters from one property and insert them into another. However, making them creative is another thing entirely. Artist Mike Henderson, a freelance illustrator for Marvel, took a handful of Pixar characters and threw them into the iconic X-Men Days of Future Past cover. Read on and take a look at the fantastic (and hilarious) artwork.

Art by Mike Henderson

Many of Pixar’s films are represented in this artwork that Henderson has entitled “Days of Future Pixar.” In the original cover for the Uncanny X-Men series, various mutants were shown as “SLAIN” and “APPREHENDED.” Personal favorites in the above image are “EXTINCT” and “ENGINE FAILURE.”

Here is the original cover artwork from Uncanny X-Men #141:

Huge props to Mike Henderson on the amusing artwork. Check out the hi-res image of Days of Future Pixar and view more of Henderson’s great art on his blog!
