9:00 AM – Pixar receives 6 Academy Award nominations in total – 5 for Toy Story 3 and 1 for Day & Night.
8:55 AM – Toy Story 3 also receives nominations for Achievement in Sound Editing and Best Original Song (“We Belong Together”). Pixar’s short film this year, Day & Night receives nomination for Best Animated Short Film.
8:50 AM – Toy Story 3 received the nominations that have been predicted for months. Nomination for Best Animated Feature Film was a lock for Pixar this year. Best Adapted Screenplay was a big nomination for the studio, as Michael Arndt, John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, and Lee Unkrich did a fantastic job putting together a great script. Finally, the nomination for Best Picture was the icing on the cake. Only three films in the history of the Academy Awards have received a nomination for Best Picture and Pixar’s films represent two of those three.
8:45 AM – Toy Story 3 receives 3 Academy Award nominations. More coming…
8:43 AM – Toy Story 3 nominated for Best Picture. Only the 3rd animated film ever to receive a nomination in the category.
8:42 AM – Toy Story 3 nominated for Best Animated Feature Film.
8:41 AM – Toy Story 3 nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay.
8:39 AM – Mo’Nique will be helping to announce the nominations this morning.
8:38 AM – Ok. Here we go….
