The 2011 People’s Choice Awards were handed out tonight at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. The people have spoken and they have given Toy Story 3 a People’s Choice Award! The Pixar film had been nominated in two categories: Favorite Movie and Favorite Family Movie. Read on to find out how the film’s night turned out.
In the Favorite Family Movie category, the nominees were:
- Despicable Me
- How To Train Your Dragon
- Shrek Forever After
- The Karate Kid
- Toy Story 3
The big winner was….(drumroll, please)…Toy Story 3!
In the Favorite Movie category, the nominees were:
- Alice In Wonderland
- Inception
- Iron Man 2
- The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
- Toy Story 3
In this category, the latest entry in the Twilight Saga walked away with the prize.
The People’s Choice Awards tend to be a lighthearted affair, where the fans are given the spotlight. Voters can vote an unlimited number of times, so the rules are a bit different from most award shows. Anyhow, Toy Story 3 walked away a winner tonight (albeit, the category’s winner was not announced during the broadcast on CBS). The people love Toy Story 3! They really do!
