Toy Story 3 Ads – Titanic & Lord of the Rings

December 22, 2010 by Samad Rizvi 2 Comments

Toy Story 3‘s push for serious Oscar contention continues as Disney/Pixar has rolled out the newest ad in their previously revealed campaign for Oscar gold. This particular ad is spoiler-ific, so if you have yet to see the film, it is best to turn back now. Read on for some images.

“Not since Titanic” accompanying the garbage dump sequence in Toy Story 3 is meant to recall the sense of impending doom during the infamous sinking of the ship in the 1997 blockbuster.

A previous ad in the series which used The Lord of the Rings: The Return of The King can be seen below:

What do these two ads have in common? They both highlight the fact that Toy Story 3 is the best-reviewed widely released film of the year. These are yet more creative ads promoting how Toy Story 3 deserves to be a part of the Best Picture Oscar conversation. The ads at least ensure that the Pixar film will remain in the minds of voters when the time comes for votes to be cast.
