Toy Story 3 received a Golden Globe nomination today for ‘Best Animated Feature’ and the film’s director, Lee Unkrich, had a few public reaction statements.
He made a public statement about the honor of being nominated:
“[Toy Story 3] has been an amazing journey for me and everyone at Pixar. These characters are like family to us, and we long thought their story felt unfinished.
“We owe a great debt of gratitude to everyone at Disney and Pixar, but especially to the audiences around the world who embraced ‘Toy Story 3.’ Many thanks to the Hollywood Foreign Press for honoring us with this nomination.”
Speaking with Variety, he briefly mentioned how he will celebrate:
“I’m going to head off to Hawaii on vacation with my family. I can’t think of any better way to celebrate than that.
“I’ve been a part of Pixar for 16 years now,” he said. “I worked on the first few ‘Toy Story’ films. They’re in my DNA.”
Hawaii sounds like a great way to celebrate. I think he’s earned it!
