Today was a huge day for Toy Story 3, as several critics associations announced their honorees and Pixar’s latest was well represented. Critics in Los Angeles and New York both agreed that Toy Story 3 was the Best Animated Film of the year. Additionally, the American Film Institute (AFI) announced that Toy Story 3 has been included as part of their Top 10 films of the year.
The Los Angeles Film Critics Association announced their winners earlier this afternoon. They awarded Toy Story 3 ‘Best Animation,’ with The Illusionist coming in second place. To see all of their winners, click here.
The newer New York Film Critics Online (not to be confused with the trend-setting New York Film Critics Circle) also voted in their winners today and Toy Story 3 was named ‘Best Animated Feature.’ To view all of their winners, click here.

Today’s success only reinforces Toy Story 3’s chances as the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards inch closer. Not only is the film seen as a favorite to take the Best Animated Feature award on Oscar night, it looks like it will also receive at least a nomination for Best Picture. TIME named Toy Story 3 the best film of the year, and now AFI has added the animated film to its list of 10 best films of the year. The awards season is officially moving at a breathtaking pace and Toy Story 3 has shown no problem keeping up!
