One of the the highlights surrounding the release of a Pixar film is always the great art book that Chronicle Books publishes to accompany the film. The Art of Toy Story 3 was a fantastic look at the concept art and behind-the-scenes processes of the film. The Art of Cars 2 will likely prove to be no different. Well, gasp, the book is now available for pre-order on Amazon!
The hardcover book has the standard suggested retail price for a Chronicle/Pixar art book ($40), but as per normal, Amazon is selling it at a discounted price ($26.40). The book clocks in at 160 pages and is due to hit retail stores around the release of the film in June 2011. The actual release date for the hardcover is still a bit muddled as Chronicle Books states that it will be available after May 18, while Amazon has noted June 1, 2011 as the big day. We’ll know more as Spring 2011 approaches.
