One of the most common questions asked about Pixar is whether the public can visit the studio’s headquarters in Emeryville, CA. Unfortunately, due to its incredible popularity and the confidential work being done, studio tours are not given to the general public. However, Pixar is also involved in charities and fundraisers, and a few times a year, the studio throws open its doors to raise money and awareness for worthy causes. [UPDATE: Full details for the special event are available now.]
Each year, the Cartoon Art Museum holds a fundraiser at Pixar Animation Studios, with visitors able to tour the campus, interact with Pixar employees, visit the exclusive Pixar Studio Store, and bid on memorabilia. On its Facebook page, the Cartoon Art Museum announced yesterday that the 7th Annual Cartoon Art Museum Benefit will be held on Saturday, November 6.
For those looking to attend, details still have to be announced. We will update as we find out more.
UPDATE: On its Facebook page, the Cartoon Art Museum linked to full details for the event on November 6. Similar to past years, there are two tiers for potential attendees to choose from. The Family Fun Tier includes entry to Pixar’s headquarters, with a viewing of Toy Story artwork, sculptures, and other special items. Additionally, there will be an auction of signed memorabilia, a screening of several Pixar short films (followed by a Q&A session), among other activities. Individual tickets are $49 or $149 for a family of four.
The VIP Screening Tier includes everything from the Family Fun Tier plus early entry (a full two hours before others), a screening of Day & Night and Toy Story 3, and access to the Pixar Studio Store. This tier is billed as being “designed for the biggest fans”. Members of the Cartoon Art Museum can purchase tickets for $149 per person, while those who are not members pay a rate of $199 per person.
Tickets will sell out fast and they will not be on sale at the door, so they must be purchased in advance. The day you visit Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville will be a day you will never forget! You will also be supporting the Cartoon Art Museum, as all proceeds from the event will go to them.
