On the same day that we received word about the November 2 Blu-Ray and DVD release of Toy Story 3, there was also news of an impending home release for the short Cars Toons that Pixar has aired on television. Now, on November 2, when you go to pick up your copy of Toy Story 3 (or have it shipped to you), you can also purchase Cars Toon: Mater’s Tall Tales. There will be two variations released: a Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack and a DVD set.
The nine Cars Toon shorts that will be on the discs are:
- “Rescue Squad Mater”
- “Mater the Greater”
- “El Materdor”
- “Unidentified Flying Mater”
- “Tokyo Mater”
- “Monster Truck Mater”
- “Heavy Metal Mater”
- “Mater Private Eye”
- “Moon Mater”
The first six have already been aired, while “Heavy Metal Mater” will hit The Disney Channel soon. The final two, “Mater Private Eye” and “Moon Mater” will be brand new episodes that will be available first on the DVD and Blu-Ray.
Special features on Pixar’s DVDs and BDs have always been a treat, and those accompanying Mater’s Tall Tales look to be no different. Stitch Kingdom posted a list of the special features that we can expect to see:
