At the D23 Expo, Pixar surprised attendees with a screening of the first half of its upcoming television special, Toy Story of Terror, which will air on ABC in October. The preview confirmed that the special would be a send-up of the horror genre, but would also pack in plenty of laughs and heart. A commercial has just been released, providing those who were unable to make it to the Expo their first look at the groundbreaking project. After the break, check out the commercial and a brand new still featuring Mr. Pricklepants and others from the lovable cast of toys!

Monsters University is currently screening for college students and faculty around the country, and judging from the overall consensus, the film is on track to delight audiences across the globe. To raise and maintain awareness of the film’s release, which is less than two months away now, Disney/Pixar has just released the final theatrical trailer. Major entertainment events are often seen as the go-to place for studios to debut TV spots for films that are still several months out from seeing release. The Super Bowl is the biggest of them all, a venue where many highly-anticipated films provide audiences with a first look. The Kids’ Choice Awards is appealing to studios for the show’s ability to draw the younger crowd, with last year’s presentation bringing in over 11 million viewers. Disney/Pixar chose the awards show, which was held this weekend, to debut a brand new commercial for Monsters University. Watch the TV spot after the break!
The trailers and ads that Disney/Pixar releases for its films in North America deliberately keep more of the film’s plot hidden from audiences. The international trailers, though, are known for being more revealing in the hopes that additional interest is generated in the increasingly important markets overseas. A new Monsters University trailer was recently released for the Japanese market and it gives away far more than its North American counterpart. Take a look at it, if you dare, after the break!
We have been anxiously anticipating a new trailer for Monsters University for months. Aside from the teaser trailer that was released alongside Brave way back in June, the campaign for the film has mostly involved viral marketing which included a ridiculously detailed college website for the fictional school. Today, in conjunction with Toy Fair, where Disney is previewing toys and merchandise tied to the upcoming film, a brand new trailer has been released. Check it out in HD after the break!
The clever viral marketing campaign for Monsters University began with the launch of a website dedicated to the university. It provides a history of the school since its inception in the year 1313, lists school news and events, and lays out a campus map among many other details that are usually found on university websites. A commercial for the school recently debuted, and it once again effectively captures what we have come to expect from a university. Watch the commercial in HD after the break!
Taking into account the fact that Pixar has never released more than one feature film per year, 2012′s privilege of three films from the animation studio is quite special. Yes, both Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc. are being re-released in 3D and are not brand new films, but having the chance to take in classic Pixar films on the big screen is a wonderful opportunity. Disney/Pixar has just released the new trailer advertising the 3D re-release of Monsters, Inc., which you can watch in HD after the break!
The team behind the Live-Action Toy Story Project has been working for years to develop an authentic experience for viewers who know the original Pixar film backwards and forwards. They have painstakingly recreated the film shot-for-shot using their own toys and materials. To spread word about its recent completion, they have used their live-action footage to mirror the first trailer released for the film back in 1995. Take a look at it after the break!
Along with our fellow Pixar blogs, we are excited to exclusively premiere the trailers for “Brave: The Video Game.” The video game adaptation of the highly anticipated Pixar film looks to continue the wonderful streak of high-quality games from Disney Interactive based on Pixar properties. The action adventure takes Merida and a supporting cast that includes bears on an epic journey through ancient Scotland. Take a look at the trailers for “Brave: The Video Game” after the jump! In the wee hours of the morning, Disney/Pixar unveiled the final theatrical trailer for Brave. It gives us a summary of the set-up for the film, with Merida being unhappy that she is being forced to marry. She is a fiery redhead, deadly with a bow and arrow, and just does not want to follow the traditions of the land. Mostly a collection of footage from the various trailers and clips that have been released thus far, we do get a few shots from later in the film. Watch the trailer after the jump! [Read more...]
Perhaps timed to show the world that Pixar has its own heroine badass who is mighty good with a bow and arrow, a new Brave TV spot has been unleashed. Along with a few glimpses of new scenes, this new spot is set to a rocking soundtrack. Most will recognize the music, Dropkick Murphys’ “I’m Shipping Up To Boston,” which is used here due to the song’s Scottish influence. Check out the new TV spot after the jump! [Read more...]
A few days ago, Disney Japan released a new trailer for Brave, and as it normally goes, it showed off a lot (and I mean, a lot) more of the film than the American trailers have. It seems to be more in line with the gorgeous and ominous teaser trailer that was shown in theatres with Cars 2. You can watch the trailer after the jump, but be warned, while the trailer is beautiful and epic, it shows much more footage from Brave. It is packed with more spoilers, especially if you speak Japanese. If you weren’t convinced by the previous trailers, then you will be convinced by this one. Check it out after the jump! This past week has been a big one for Brave, with us getting character descriptions and a new trailer (more like a clip) from the film. Just when you thought you would not hear from Pixar for the next few weeks at least, a new TV spot made a surprise debut during the Oscars last night. Accompanied with a beautiful song in the Scottish Gaelic language, the commercial gives us a haunting look into the film. Check out the great new TV spot after the jump! [Read more...]
As promised, early this morning, Disney/Pixar released a new Brave trailer exclusively through iTunes Movie Trailers. The trailer, though, is essentially an extended clip from the film – a moment which sets the stage for Merida and her journey. On display are her impressively sick archery skills, which would put any one of us to shame. Watch the 2 1/2 minute clip, called “The Prize,” in high resolution after the jump! [Read more...]
Our first look at Finding Nemo 3D is hitting multiplexes all over the country this Friday with Beauty and the Beast 3D. To mark the underwater film’s debut in the 3D format, Disney/Pixar has just released a trailer for the film’s debut in September. While it is fine to see the beautiful world all over again on the computer screen, it cannot compare to the 3D trailer that will be playing in theatres this weekend. For now, check out this Finding Nemo 3D trailer…in 2D! [Read more...]
One complaint about the teaser trailer for John Carter was that there was not much to be seen – that it was too mysterious. Well, the curtain has been pulled apart in a big way as the new trailer, which has debuted online through IGN, showcases a lot more action and features snippets from what are sure to be some kick-ass battle sequences. From the many interviews that director Andrew Stanton has given about the film, he is clearly passionate about the film and is determined to release something great. Check out the full trailer here! On Monday, along with the release of a few images from Pixar’s upcoming film, Brave, we learned that the first full-length trailer would be arriving shortly. Well, it’s here and it looks fantastic. Over the years, Pixar has made great strides in animation, and those skills are all on display here. Main character Merida features flowing locks of red hair that move with such fluidity that they look borderline realistic. Check out the stunningly beautiful trailer for Brave here. [Read more...]
On the heels of its debut in theatres with The Muppets next week, Disney/Pixar is now giving us a look at the newest Toy Story Toon, Small Fry, in action (via HeyUGuys). The clip was first shown at the D23 Expo, where Pixar first announced the title and storyline for the next adventure for these wildly popular toys. Buzz is left behind at a fast-food restaurant and literally falls into a support meeting for unwanted toys (think Happy Meal-like toys). Take a look at the hilarious clip here. [Read more...]
The first (and only) Brave footage that has been publicly unveiled was the teaser trailer that arrived with Cars 2 way back in June. That was about five months ago. While Pixar showcased a few scenes from the highly-aniticipated film at the D23 Expo in August (you can read about the scenes here), attendees were the only ones who got a glimpse at them. With Disney’s The Muppets coming to theatres the day before Thanksgiving, it is the most likely time for a new Brave trailer to drop. [Read more...]
