We have come to expect the very best of Pixar when it comes to the studio’s films. Another area, we have come to expect creativity is at the studio’s RenderMan booth at the annual SIGGRAPH conference, a show highlighting computer graphics. Given the computer graphics theme, the 38th iteration of the show, taking place in Vancouver this year, features a big Pixar presence – one has to go no further than the design of their booth to know that. Silhouette Clues Us Into 2011 RenderMan Walking Teapot Design (Update: Design Revealed)

SIGGRAPH (Special Interest Group on Graphics and Interactive Techniques) is an annual conference and exhibition highlighting computer graphics. Each year, Pixar’s RenderMan, the studio’s software used throughout the movie industry that renders 3D animation and visual effects, has a great booth at the conference, where talks are held and great giveaways are handed out. Wind-up teapots have become a staple giveaway at the booth, with a line of hundreds winding up and down the show floor, as they wait for a chance to get their hands on the collectible. While last year’s design was based on Mr. Potato Head, this year’s remains a mystery (UPDATE: no more! – the design has been revealed below). Each year, Pixar’s RenderMan has a booth at SIGGRAPH (short for Special Interest Group on Graphics and Interactive Techniques), which is an annual conference and exhibition highlighting computer graphics. The conference allows computer professionals to display their work and to connect with others. Currently in its 37th iteration, this year’s show takes place from July 25-29 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

It was at SIGGRAPH 1984 that John Lasseter debuted The Adventures of Andre & Wally B., the short that started it all for Pixar. The studio’s RenderMan, which renders 3D animation and visual effects, has a great looking booth this year:
