Watch: Learn How Pixar and Disney Collaborate To Create A Massive Pixar Celebration At Disneyland

Pixar Fest is a first for Disney as well as Pixar. We have seen limited-time Star Wars-themed events in addition to Marvel-takeovers, but we have never seen a Pixar celebration to the scale we are seeing now. Although the influence of Pixar’s films can be spotted throughout the Disneyland Resort (and many other Disney Parks), Pixar Fest is the first time that the studio’s characters are the headlining attraction at the Parks for the summer season. There is a great deal of thought and planning that went into putting together Pixar Fest. I had a chance to conduct an interview where we hear about this collaboration between Pixar and Disney Parks – watch the video interview after the break! [Read more…]

Watch: Go Inside The Pixar Play Parade At Disneyland

Pixar Fest is currently underway throughout Disneyland. It’s a celebration of all-things Pixar on the Disney property that started it all. One of the special aspects of the festival is the Pixar-themed entertainment options. The Pixar Play Parade, although it has been around for years at Disney California Adventure, has crossed the esplanade and is playing at Disneyland for the first time in its history. This is a fascinating move for the parade that has brought new opportunities – watch a video where we talk about this! [Read more…]

Pixar Play Parade Has Returned to Disneyland With Great New Additions

Pixar Play Parade Has Returned to Disneyland With Great New Additions

Parades are a staple of the Disney Parks. Kids and adults, alike, are drawn to the parades for a number of reasons. You are exposed to a barrage of famed Disney characters – you will see more in the span of 15 minutes than anywhere else. The characters also frequently ride in on large, creative floats. Then, there is the music that accompanies the parade, a main theme playing alongside music associated with each set of characters. Parades appeal to our inner child (and/or our nostalgic side), reminding us of the sense of wonder we experienced when we first watched these characters on screen. For Pixar Fest, the Pixar Play Parade made its triumphant return to Disneyland, and it came with lovely new additions. [Read more…]

Watch: Pixar Fest Food and Snacks Are Creative and Look Delicious

I love the theming of Disneyland – it is the aspect of the park that I admire most, that brings me back again and again, to see all the little details that I only see upon close examination. One way that I get transported to the different lands and areas of the park is the presence of the various foods and snacks that add to the theming. For the next few months, Disneyland is celebrating Pixar Fest, which has Pixar taking over so many corners of the two theme parks (and downtown area) on the resort’s property. I had the chance to take a peek at many of the food items that visitors to the Parks will see – watch the video after the break. [Read more…]

Watch: A Close Look At Pixar Fest’s Fireworks Show

Yesterday, I wrote in-depth about the centerpiece of Pixar Fest, “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular.” My experience watching the show was an incredible one, from the opening of the show where Buzz Lightyear flies over Sleeping Beauty Castle, to the sequence where Coco music, much like for the film, almost made me cry in front of strangers. There is a lot of thought that goes into developing a show with so many lovely details. On the eve of the opening of Pixar Fest, I had the opportunity to participate in a video interview where I was able to dive deep into what makes the show so special. [Read more…]

Pixar Fest’s Fireworks Show Is A Serious Spectacle

When you think of Disneyland, there are a few things that come to mind – among them are attractions, parades, great snack selection, and fireworks. Pixar Fest, which is the limited-time celebration of Pixar and its characters, is now officially underway at the Disneyland Resort – given that it’s a special event, there are plenty of entertainment options, but the crown jewel is “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular.” It is one of the most technologically advanced fireworks shows that Disneyland has developed and it shows. I had the opportunity to watch the show on the eve of the start of Pixar Fest and, in my view, it is a serious spectacle. [Read more…]

Disneyland Set To Celebrate Pixar Like Never Before

Disneyland Set To Celebrate Pixar Like Never Before

Over the last ten years, Pixar’s presence across Disney Parks has grown considerably. Without a doubt, the best example of a Pixar addition to the Parks is Cars Land, a gorgeous area of Disneyland’s California Adventure. Cars Land was Disney’s response to Universal Studios’ Wizarding World phenomenon, and Disneyland knocked it out of the park (no pun intended). Visitors were transported to Radiator Springs through a jaw-droppingly faithful recreation of the fictional town seen in the Cars films. Anchored by the Radiator Springs Racers attraction, the immersive land has become a shining example of how to give guests an experience they will never forget. [Read more…]

New ‘Cars 3’ Character Debuts At Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival

Disney Parks around the world give people a chance to be transported to other worlds – the past, the future, and the films under the Disney banner, including Pixar, Lucasfilm, and Marvel. A unique opportunity exists at Epcot in Walt Disney World, where each year incredibly detailed topiaries bring to life some of the famous Disney characters seen on screen. Dubbed the Flower and Garden Festival, it is an annual event that is always celebrating some new characters. This year, a new character from Cars 3 made his debut – take a look at his topiary after the break! [Read more…]

2017 Disneyland Half-Marathon Weekend Themed Around Pixar Films

Hundreds of thousands of runners take part in various races around Disney’s theme park properties every year, making runDisney one of the most popular avenues for competitors in the world. There is already a huge community of running enthusiasts – add in Disney to the equation and you can understand what the draw is for people to want to run one of these races. We have just learned that one series of races in 2017 will be entirely themed around Pixar’s films. Find more details after the break. [Read more…]

Cars Land Getting A New Attraction In 2016

Cars Land Getting A New Attraction In 2016

The grand redesign of the Disney California Adventure theme park, which was completed in 2012, featured two major changes – Buena Vista Street would provide the park with its own version of Main Street, U.S.A, and Cars Land would be the first “land” in a Disney park fully recreating a film setting. Both additions have been meet with universally rave reviews, but that does not mean everything was perfect. Disney has announced a completely new version of the Luigi’s Flying Tires attraction will soon be installed. Find more details after the break! [Read more…]
